Image
Importance of Intellectual Property Engr. Gladdy Compasan shared to us the importance of Intellectual Property, as well as show us how to utilize it for our startup project. Innovation is the key driver to country’s economic competence and performance. The Philippines was named one of the top climbers of the decade following the release of the global innovation index of 2023, in which it placed 56 out of 132 economies according to the World Intellectual Property Organization. The origin of patents dates back to ancient Greece around 500 BC. In the Greek city of Sybaris during 500 BCE, a system was established that offered incentives to individuals discovering new refinements in luxury. Inventors were granted patents for one year, ensuring they enjoyed the profits from their creations. In Europe, Congress passed laws in 1790 to protect new inventions and creative works. These laws granted creators exclusive rights for a limited period, aiming to incentivize innovation in "the...

Marketing and Tracking of Startup Business

Image
Instructor gave us two materials to read on, namely "Launching and Marketing" and "Traction and Metrics". Lesson about Launching and Marketing What I learned about Launching and Marketing is about the beginning of idea into growth of startup, what to consider on your startup product or service, how to get and keep customers, the definition of value, business impact, customer convenience and understanding, and how to improve. When you start a business, you must begin with an idea of what your target customer's needs, what they do in their daily life, the advantages and disadvantages of doing such activities, their concerns, and others. You must listen to your customers to know what they want, and to be able to generate an idea of a product or a service you are willing to share and gain money from. This also creates awareness that people need such a product or business to make the daily lives of target customers easily, attracting more target customers and retain...

The Entrepreneurial Mind and Navigating Financial Landscape for Technopreneurs

Image
The instructor gave us two lectures to learn from, and it's about Revenue Models and Navigating the Financial Landscape. The first lecture which is about revenue models discussed about its definition, importance, advantages, where is it used, and what to do to have a revenue model. Revenue Model is a strategic framework, acts as your business blueprint to model how your startup generates income or revenue. A sustainable Revenue Model has three important parts: Longevity, Impact, and Resilience. Longevity talks about the long-term viability of an organization, Impact talks about financial provision to scale initiatives, and Resilience talks about management of coming challenges. Social enterprise is defined as business with specific social objectives that has a primary purpose of seeking to maximize profits and benefits to what needs them, and then profit to fund for social programs. My understanding to this is to be able to have a sustainable startup by gaining profit and have re...

The Value Proposition Canvas

Image
On this week, we are given the materials to learn about the value proposition chart. We decided to have a meeting with the group I’m in to get more understanding about how this works and how this can help into our subject. “Let us meet and gather ideas!” Face-to-face meeting with groupmates Our leader Zeefpril Saldivar called a face-to-face meeting to be able to understand better what the Value Proposition Canvas is. Self Assessment

Image
“My innovation mindset is not fixed but I have room to grow” my mindset is focused on diversity, where I can see that I am open-minded enough to gather and accept new information for my own development. I can accept new ideas suggested by the group and help them generate new ideas for general improvement. I took the test twice, but the result is the same, I guess I suck at making my own ideas plausible (according to the belief data). “My personality is a Turbulent Mediator” One thing that hits me in the gut in this one is being able to daydream everywhere. It’s also true that I have fake scenarios and stories that’s in my head but unable to show them to people freely. I would like to help others more than how I like to ask for help, which can lead me to so much downfall and become pathetic. I am kind to everyone to the point I’m being exploited as well. In this personality test, I also have other things to agree like “so much empathy”, “sour truth”, and other things. I guess thin...

My hobbies

Image
I draw… but the quality of my drawing is so poor you could just laugh and skip at it. I suck at color theory and not even good at shading, so I’m just stuck at line-art and it looks like this. Do I practice traditional form of drawing? Yep, but it’s far worse than this one. Also, I suck at anatomy that I use p****es as base for drawing a whole body (thanks to Frost Channel for drawing a human figure, unfortunately he deleted them). I don’t draw as much anymore, but if anything, the most I can do is just take pictures. I’m lazy, I have no time, I game a lot more than drawing, yeah. I think I lost passion to drawing, but I also think I still have them. Ah, right. That’s me and my girlfriend on the canvas.
